Apparel

The Amanda Top

The Amanda V-Neck Top & Dress pattern from Halla Patterns has some lovely variations for knit fabrics. It is for intermediate sewists.

Elishka Jepson of Robyriker Designs made this top for MeMade May with her Floral Festival design on Modern Jersey.

The Lark Tee

‘In general, I prefer natural substrates to synthetic, but Spoonflower modern jersey has a few characteristics which I like.  It has a nice drape which makes it a good fit for apparel.  It prints with a brightness that doesn’t fade and has a slight sheen, giving it an almost “fancy” feel. I have made my mom a few tee shirts with modern jersey and it is her favorite because it does not wrinkle.  Perfect for vacations and packing in a suitcase.

Modern Jersey seems to be a unique to Spoonflower substrate. If I had to pick another fabric that is the most similar, I would say Rayon Spandex.  But it is slightly heavier and easier to sew, as it has more stability.’  -Brenda

Infinity Scarf

This scarf which I can loop around twice to wear was made with ½ yard of Modern Jersey.  You can use the Fill-A-Yard function on Spoonflower to split a yard of Modern Jersey into 2 half yard cuts with two different designs.  Choose HORIZONTAL split for this project.  Since you will have a white border on three edges and the contrasting design for the fourth this is really fast to cut and you use ALL the printed fabric in your project!‘ – Brenda
